At 18 months:
- He can throw with both hands
- Swing a bat
- Hit line drives off a tee
- He can tell you where the pitchers is and who the batter is
- He claps when someone strikes out (I think he may be a pitcher)
- He wakes up saying baseball and goes to sleep with a baseball
- He cries when we see boys down at the field and he can't go join them
- He makes you wear a helmet when he pitches to you
- He won't pitch the ball unless you are standing with the bat off your shoulder
- He knows how to get down and ready
- He will sit for at least 20 minutes and just watch a baseball game on TV (for this age that is a very long time to be sitting!)
- We take our bat, ball, and glove everywhere we go!
He was at the baseball field with the team one day this summer and Alex was having the boys do a drill so there was nobody left to pitch to Ethan, so instead, little Mr. Innovative found an empty Powerade bottle without the lid on it stood it up in the dirt and set the ball on the top, and just like that he had made his own little Tee :) What a gem !
Alex thinks E is "the real deal" :) We will see,but for now we just watch him in awe of how much this little ball player knows!
