Happy 5 Months (and 1 week) Baby boy!!!
Ethan this past month has been a whirlwind! You are learning at such a fast pace right now and there is no way anybody is going to slow you down! I truly think that this past month you have learned more than any previous month!
You have mastered eating from a spoon and you love your baby food and your cereal! Your favorite food is sweet potatoes, and its quite comical when your dad feeds you sweet potatoes because he repeatedly says (in a high pitched voice) Sweet Potato Pie, and then you giggle....
You and your daddy have become quite the pair and you light up when you see him. He can really make you laugh! He loves to wrestle with you and he often thinks you are bigger than you really are, but you try really hard to fight back (always with the same move though). You dig your head into his neck and drool all over him while grabbing his nose in a firm grip and letting out what almost sounds like a growl of some sort! So funny and so memorable!
You have become a better sleeper. Not what any normal person would call good, but for us it's a huge improvement from every 1.5 hours! You are now going to bed about 8:30 and you sleep until about 12 and then until 5 and wake up for good at about 8:30. Not too bad, but not too good either (we are currently working on trying to eliminate that midnight waking....but it's been a process :)
Ethan you have also become very good at sitting up! I did not think this milestone was going to come for another month or so but you are actually doing really well! You don't sit for more than a minute at a time before you become quite wobbly and fall to the side or flat in front of you, right on your face! Despite your quick learner mentality for sitting up, you are having a heck of a time rolling over. You just don't have any desire to roll over! You are fine on your back and you do great on your belly, but you have no desire to do both at once!!
You are laughing out loud now and you either smile or laugh at everyone you see, so you make for fun, easy, and cute entertainment wherever we go!
You also love your exersaucer and have for quite some time! It allows you to stand and I think you like it so much because all the toys are right at your eye level. And since the chair is a 360 degree chair it makes it real easy to play with all the toys, and the best part is you don't even have to roll over to get to all of them :)
Ethan these last few months have been the best of my life and I can't believe how quickly you are learning things! I am so proud to be your mother and am so blessed to have you in my life! Sometimes I even think twice and say to myself, Yes, Kayla, he is really yours!
My love for you continues to grow!
Love, your mommy!

For over 15 years I have documented our family’s lives with this blog. In
lieu of baby books and scrapbooks, I have digitally captured pictures and
